The BA Program in Economics (EBA) received its charter from Chulalongkorn University Council on the February 28th, 2002. Classes started on August 4th, 2002 with 45 students in the program. All classes are taught in English. We now have approximately 500 full-time students. Furthermore, EBA is increasing the number of its partner institutions in every corner of the world. Our exchange number of incoming and outgoing students has been raised to promote an international atmosphere in the program.
The 4-year program is designed to provide students with an appreciation of modern economics, to teach them techniques and applications, to give them practice in relating economics to the world around them, and finally to prepare them for graduate study within this lively academic discipline. Students are provided with the solid academic background necessary for careers as practicing economists locally and internationally.
The EBA program is divided into 2 main semesters or terms of study and 1 Summer session. The first semester runs from August-November. The second semester runs from January-April while the Summer session runs from June-July. Each semester contains not less than 15 weeks while the Summer session is 7 weeks long.
